Richard Svrluga, President and CEO

Co-founded the Company in 2005 and has 25 years of experience creating and managing medical device, biotech and other technology businesses. He co-founded, served as Vice President and board member of Summit Technology, Inc. a pioneer in the development of excimer laser vision correction. He served as President and CEO of Seragen, Inc. which developed Ontak, a biological therapeutic for cancer treatment. He serves as Chairman or board member of Zentox Corporation a provider of industrial water treatment systems and services and GreenPages, Inc. a provider of IT solutions.

Allen Kirkpatrick, Technical Director

Prior to joining Exogenesis in 2007, Allen had 40 years of experience in development and application of ion beam techniques for processing materials. He founded Epion Corp. which commercialized GCIB and was acquired in 2000 by JDS Uniphase Corp. Mr. Kirkpatrick subsequently reacquired GCIB rights for semiconductor applications and rebuilt Epion which was then acquired by Tokyo Electron in 2006. He was Chief Scientist of the Ion Beam Systems Division and General Manager of the Ion Materials Systems Division of Eaton Semiconductor Equipment Division, Manager of the Solid State Division of Spire Corp., and a Manager of ion implantation technology development at Ion Physics Corp.

Sean Kirkpatrick, Director of Applications

Prior to joining Exogenesis in 2007, Sean had 20 years of experience with Epion Corp. in the development and application of a variety of surface coating and treatment technologies including plasma, ion implantation and gas cluster ion beam processing. This work included application of various surface processing technologies to meet specific customer driven requirements.

Joe Khoury, Ph.D., Director of Cell and Molecular Biology

Prior to joining Exogenesis in 2009, Dr. Khoury held the position of Senior Scientist of Cell and Molecular Biology at Histogenics Corp., where along with his position at Exogenesis has gained over 6 years of experience in the medical device and tissue engineering fields. Dr. Khoury has over 20 years of experience in cellular and molecular biology techniques to elucidate complex mechanisms and functions underlying several disease areas. He received his Ph.D. from the Dept. of Medicine at McGill University and held the position of Postdoctoral Fellow at Harvard Medical School in the Dept. of Urology at Children’s Hospital Boston, and Instructor in Anesthesia at Brigham and Women’s Hospital.

James Bachand, Director of Engineering

Prior to joining Exogenesis in 2010, Jim had more than 20 years of extensive experience in the design and manufacture of technically sophisticated capital equipment. He has held engineering management positions with PVD Products, Epion Corp. and Multilevel Metals Inc.

Michael Walsh, Director of Product Development

Prior to joining Exogenesis in 2009, Mike had 15 years of experience in managing the development, manufacturing, global deployment and support of leading edge high value technology capital equipment production systems. He held management positions with Tokyo Electron Epion, Epion Corp. and Eaton Corp.
