Michael O’Malley, Director

Mr. O’Malley is a General Partner of Inflection Point Ventures in Wellesley MA. He previously managed the venture capital investment program of MDT Advisers, Inc., in Cambridge, MA. Earlier in his career, he was a member of the senior investment team at Massachusetts Technology Development Corporation (MTDC), Boston, MA. Mr. O’Malley earned a J.D. from Suffolk University School of Law, an M.B.A. from Babson College, and a Bachelor’s degree from Colby College. Mr. O’Malley serves on numerous boards of portfolio companies.

Mike Powell, Director

Mike has over 25 years of experience in financial markets. Until 2008, he was Global Head of Markets at HSBC, where he ran all Trading, Sales and Origination for one of the largest banks in the world. This position covered over 80 countries with more than 3500 staff globally and revenues in excess of $8 billion. Mike was made a Group General Manager of HSBC in 2006; one of the Top 50 senior executive positions in HSBC. After leaving HSBC Mike acted as a consultant to a wide range of contacts; advising HSBC on their investments in Hedge Funds and Hedge Fund startups and sitting on HSBC’s Principal Investment Committee as a non-executive advisor for 18 months. Mike has a strong interest in technology. In 2008 Mike established Thematic Capital Partners which has invested in technology and web based companies. He has a strong interest in bringing technology to the financial markets, in particular the application of social networks, trading systems and IT solutions for Hedge Funds. Currently Mike is a non-executive director of Jadwa, a Saudi based investment bank and chairs their investment committee. Mike is a director of PCE Investors a London based Hedge Fund and Chairman of Thematic Networks. Mike has an MBA from Henley Business School. He lives in London.

Edward J. Stewart III, Director

Mr. Stewart is a General Partner of Venture Capital Fund of New England in Wellesley MA. He has been involved in early stage New England venture capital for over 25 years, first as a partner of Corning Venture Management for over 19 years, followed by his forming Kestrel Venture Management in 1995, and currently as a founding partner of VCFNE IV. Individually, Mr. Stewart has had an active and successful turn-around career with numerous New England-based industrial companies. In addition to his full-time capacity with VCFNE IV, Mr. Stewart is also an active advisor to three other venture capital groups in the Boston area. Mr. Stewart holds a BS degree from Yale and an MBA from the Harvard Business School. Mr. Stewart serves on numerous boards of portfolio companies.

Richard Svrluga, President and CEO and Director

Co-founded the Company in 2005 and has 25 years of experience creating and managing medical device, biotech and other technology businesses. He co-founded, served as Vice President and board member of Summit Technology, Inc. a pioneer in the development of excimer laser vision correction. He served as President and CEO of Seragen, Inc. which developed Ontak, a biological therapeutic for cancer treatment. He serves as Chairman or board member of Zentox Corporation a provider of industrial water treatment systems and services and GreenPages, Inc. a provider of IT solutions.

Allen Kirkpatrick, Director

Prior to joining Exogenesis in 2007, Allen had 40 years of experience in development and application of ion beam techniques for processing materials. He founded Epion Corp. which commercialized GCIB and was acquired in 2000 by JDS Uniphase Corp. Mr. Kirkpatrick subsequently reacquired GCIB rights for semiconductor applications and rebuilt Epion which was then acquired by Tokyo Electron in 2006. He was Chief Scientist of the Ion Beam Systems Division and General Manager of the Ion Materials Systems Division of Eaton Semiconductor Equipment Division, Manager of the Solid State Division of Spire Corp., and a Manager of ion implantation technology development at Ion Physics Corp.
